We meet every Wednesday at the Dollar Academy swimming pool during term time, from 18:00 – 21:00. The club is open to children who are of school age and of all abilities, beginners to competent swimmers.
Lesson times are 18:00, 18:30 & 19:00 for beginners up to improvers and 19:40 and 20:20 for improvers onwards, swimming in lanes. We operate a system of continuous assessment throughout the year and will progress pupils through our classes, with the aim of encouraging and supporting each pupil to develop their confidence and competence. The club holds two badge nights during the year for all abilities and in June each year we hold our annual gala for members of the club.
The club is run on an entirely voluntary basis: both helpers in the water (from age 14) and the teachers. We provide guidance and training to all volunteers and are always looking for assistance from anyone who can spare some time.
